Carlisle Center Park
Free Gardening lessons at Center Park
Mon, Aug 14
|Carlisle
The shady areas are often 10 - 15 degrees cooler than the sunny parts of Carlisle Center Park, meaning even if it is hot and humid we try and stay comfortable. Bring your questions, as we can teach students to identify weeds, "Chelsea Chop" perennials, make compost tea, groom planting beds and more!

About the event
Dress for the weather and bring hydration for yourself. Bringing tools is optional, as we provide trowels, clippers, edgers and other "cool tools" that help make gardening more fun. Just bring a chair and listen to the chatter if you are not interested in getting into soil and weeds. We urge you to bring your personal gardening questions to the group, as there is a blurring between teacher and student. We use smart phones to try and ID unknown plants, but take pride in the many well labelled plantings at Center Park. We have a lot of native plants, but also embrace the Asian beauties and European delights. We are an organic park and do a lot of composting. We often have extra plants to share with volunteers. We hope you will join us some Mondays from now until Halloween!
