About the event
Rain on Sat April 1 means now postponed to Saturday April 22!
Barry Ohs and Alison Saylor will share their experiences sourcing and designing live edge slab wood and turning them into attractive custom-built outdoor benches. New benches will be designed and built or partially built during the workshop. Learn what epoxy and uv protective polyurethane we used to protect the wood. Help us brainstorm a new design with a tall back using our Red Cedar, Black Locust, and other specially purchased or locally gleaned.
Other tasks for the morning will be picking up sticks and clearing winter debris from garden beds. Master Gardeners will share their expertise in best hand tools to use, best practices for what to cut back and what to leave and how to compost plant clippings.
