Two Red Cedar Benches at Center Park

Barry Ohs made these benches in his workshop. Today Mike Saylor brought his trailer and helped carry the two new (heavy) benches to Center Park. These and the original Black Walnut bench will be featured in Saturday's Outdoor Benching event, sponsored by the Carlisle Cultural Council. Barry and Alison will describe the process of analyzing the site for the bench, procuring the wood, design considerations for aesthetics, ergonomics and stability, plus finishing/weatherizing techniques. The two similar but unique benches will remain at Center Park.
